MOSCOW, Jun 9 (PRIME) -- The Kremlin sees special economic zones as an inefficient institute which needs to be dismantled in their current state but the measures will not cover territories of accelerated development, spokesman for the president Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Thursday.
“I need to look through correspondent papers, the institute really turned out to be extremely inefficient, at least it came as inefficient in this country. Very costly with small results, with a zero performance factor,” Peskov said.
Earlier on Thursday, business daily Kommersant reported that Russia will suspend establishment of new special economic zones and can dismantle 10 out of the 33 existing zones because an investigation demonstrated that mismanagement of the state money made each new job in the zones cost the budget 10 million rubles.
Peskov said that the territories of accelerated development established later are gaining momentum in their development.
